Metals


                                                            METALS

Is a hard element that shines that can be in a rock or in the soil like iron, gold.Metals can be good conductors of electricity.

TYPES OF FERRROUS: 

FERROUS METALS:
  Carbon steel: iron content 98.6 to 99.4 %. It is used to make cutting tools such as drill bits.





  




 Stainless steel: is made of iron, chromium and nickel. It resists corrosion and staining and is used   for the likes of cutlery and surgical instrumentation.

 



    






Cast iron: It is iron about  94 to 98%. Is very strong but is brittle. It's used for manufactured items such as engine blocks and manhole covers.

 






NON-FERROUS METALS:  

   Aluminium: very lightweight and easily worked. Used in aircraft manufacture, window frames and some kitchen ware.





    Cooper: is a natural ocurring substance, it conducts heat and electricity, it's used for wiring, tubing and pipe work.

 






    Brass: is a combination of cooper and zinc. Is usef for ornamental purposes and within electrical fittings.


 







     Silver: mainly a natural substance, but mixing with cooper creates sterling silver. It's used  for decorative impact in jewellery and ornaments, and also to solder different metals together.

 







    


 Lead: is a naturally occurring substance. It's heavy and very soft, is often used in roofing, in batteries and to make pipes.





TYPES OF FERROU ALOYS:

- Cast iron: are usually manufactured through casting technique owing to their brittle nature due to presence of iron carbide.

TYPES OF NON-FERROU ALOYS: 

Cooper aloys: are excellent electrical conductors and very good thermal conductivity and can be easily machined and soldered.
Brass: cooper and zync atoms are randomly dispersed at lattice points. 
Bronzes: are softer and weaker than steel. corrosion resistance, heat and electric conductivity are also better than steel, while the cost is higher than steels.

SUPERCONDUCTOR METALS: 

Mercury, lead, tin, aluminium and zinc.

MY PERSONAL OPINION

                                       MYRA'S ADVENTURE
 
I like so much to make the movie but I think we start to record it so late and we don't have in off time to film with more details the movie.
For next year I hope that everyone makes a good film and then saw it during the second break.
In the group we had worked well but we had some problems to film because the camera didn't work and we need to film with the phone but, in general I like so much to make the movie.

STRUCTURES

DEFINITION: object made of a particular shape who is made in order to protect another thing, support something, to help people, etc.

NATURAL STRUCTURES: are structures made by the nature with natural things, structures that are not made by humans.

EXAMPLES:

MAN-MADE STRUCTURES: are structures made by humans and can have a profit or just to make something beatiful.
